have you tried not giving a <swear filter>? who cares what a bunch of losers from your school say, i just seen a bunch of kids at the bar that used to rag on me about it, i talked to them and they asked about it and i told them im still playing and that my team is sponsored by jager and there eyes got big, they were then curious, i had to explane to them that i dont really care what they have to say and just said i do what i love to do and thats all that really matters, this was the first time since grad ive seen them, and thats been almost 3 years, so pretty much dont give a <swear filter> man, just do what you love.

1) who cares whether it's a "sport" by technical definition, it's fun and you like it and you shouldn't give a rats ass what they think of it.

2) they don't understand basic logic or how to "prove" or "proof" an argument either intellectually or academicly so stop giving them credence.

3) they obviously haven't looked into the definition of what makes something a sport vs. a non-sport (game doesn't fit as an appropriate title for non-sport as most sports are also games) and until you have a definition to work from you're just shovelling large amounts of opinion and fertilizer NOT making an intelligent arguement one way or the other.

4) none of their "arguments" so far have made any actual points worth any weight towards whether paintball is or isn't a sport as they all hinge on personal opinion, a single uncited, likely non-authoritative, source for the definition of paintball, and the falacious assumption and implication that something which is referred to as a "game" is there for not a "sport". See the games of Baseball, Basketball, Hockey, Football, and Soccer for examples.

5) I can't believe you're giving them your time on this or that by you giving them your time and any semblance of "give a damn" i've been sucked into spending this much time discussing the half witted "arguments/opinions" of some stoner school boys with a twig up their backside about your choice of recreational activities.

of course it's a sport - duh! it's not like we're sitting down playing a board game. we're engaging in almost every athletic movement possible: running diving sprinting crawling rolling etc etc in a controlled tournament environment at a sporting venue. just laugh at them and say, "you know nada"

Definitions and descriptions are a dime a dozen. By extension of the of logic Cove and Curtis are presenting the events that comprise the Olympic GAMES must not be in fact sports as they are described as "games"... Another counter point would be to look at any of the sports that are also described as "games". An example used above I think was that of a Soccer GAME etc... in this case Soccer is generally held to be a "sport" and yet is also a game. I wish him luck with the attempt to argue that soccer is not a sport as it is defined and described as a game. Weak attempted argument based on "authority" (ie some online dictionary) that appears to assume that which is "A" cannot also be "B" (a game can be a sport and a sport can be a game...). F-

Counter points to the argument Wesley is presenting would be to point out that ARCHERY is considered to be a sport (an Olympic Sport non-the-less) but also utilizes a "device which propels the projectile without effort of the individual". An even better counter example that illustrates the limited scope and poorly considered nature of the argument Wesley has presented is to merely ponder the nature of yet another Olympic SPORT the Biathlon (XCountry Ski + Guns)... dur... Yet another ill conceived attempt at forming a meaningful argument. Yet again.... F-
