I would like to personally thank some of the people and groups who made yesterdays game such as success. Over 260 players attended a close game, with the Iraqis leading by 700 heading into the final battle. It took the red army 25 minutes + to break through the Iranian lines and place the WMD for the 1000 points for winning the final battle, thus providing a final winning margin of 1700 points. Both armies completed their special missions which ran during the morning and afternoon games.

Game sponsors - PBL West, TPG, Milsig, Goblin, and DYE

Field staff and refs - TPG crew headed up by Jake, and refs from Gridlock. Special thanks to my girl Erin for running the concession booth all day!

All players for braving a not so great weather forecast, including groups from TNT, Hellfire, Island Militia, Untouchables, CSPO, Ambush Army including Kyle from PBGear leading up the forces, Marauders, Ton Sixers, and last but not least Louis, Adam, and Cy from team Nemesis, a team who helped shape paintball in BC starting in the late 80s. Great to see you all! Excellent extra effort from Kris and Jim from the CSPO with staging area organization of the blue team, tactical mapping of field with rally points, and helping out players new to the scenario game format. Saw lots of smiles and overheard some great stories, and that makes my day for sure.

Tank and support crews:

- Jayson, Bruce et al from Wardogz and their two! tanks / APCs. Great job running both machines all day and thanks from everyone! Look for some exciting news about a new combat range and tank operations course from a combined effort between Tactical Paintball Games and the Wardogz, coming soon!
- Dave, Ted, Wayne, Scott, Robby, Zack, Craig, Ed and others who I may have missed for being the driving force behind our new tank project, the Green BEAST who played red this game. Also thanks to Thomas F from team Killbox for his time and efforts on the tank as well

We look forward to seeing you all at the July 11 game, Operation Colombia! Also, look for the BEAST at scenario and big games around the province and possibly down in the US as well. Once again, thanks to everyone who attended and made the game a ton of fun!

Thanks Tommy. We will have the mortar team for the blue army next time around - to combat the red team rocket launcher of course. I may also allow the blue team APC to work in conjunction with their tank!

dude, i ALWAYS thought paintball mortars would completely change the game.

why do you see all the infantrymen in modern armies training with them? - they attack from above, that's why! - like a plane. if you've got air superiority then usually the win is in the bag.

i guess with paintball mortars the reduced speed of a dropping ball (terminal velocity at best) would create less chance that an impact that would break. also, you usually require a bigger spread and a higher volume of ordinance for indirect 'toys' such as a paintball mortar.

but

the fact that they fire indirectly completly changes the game.

i can't wait.
