Did you turn the ASA on?
asa is where the tank screws in and it should have a knob or a button of some sort.
germantom
Oct 2 2009, 08:41 PM
It doesn't have a asa switch/ button

if the air is getting through to the reg, then the reg should read

okay, my guess is that maybe there isn't enough air to make it air up or.
Sometimes my vice doesn't get pressure i turn it on and shoot with the eyes off and some reason it airs it up.
Try that . and if it doesn't work

or Tekk.
Stress69 has one of those and he can help diagnoise the problem.

Have you shot it before?
Could also be that the reg adjustment is turned all the way in not allowing air into the gun.
If the timmy has a gauge above the reg it should be at about 70-75 - if that gauge shows 0 then its just not getting air - so work your way backwards.
There will be plenty of enough people at the field on sunday that all know timmies well.

yah you took the words out of my mouth rob the LPR adjustments are turned down screw it in a bit slowly with the tank on the gun and should solve the problem make sure you turn very slowly as the LPR adjustments are very touchy.

GERMANTOM! DO NOT mess with your LP Reg on your own the first time. If you push it too high you can damage internals of the gun!!!
Based on the number of questions you've been asking you should play it safe and get someone who is familiar with Timmies to show you how to do it and what the safe ranges are.

there should be a little allen key screw on the side turn that and shoot over a chrono and use your velocity ajustment screw to get to areond 300fps
Rage, no offense intended but I don't think you understand what we are discussing in this particular thread. Have you ever done an LPR adjustment on a Bob Long or equivalent marker? We're not talking about cranking up the HPR to make it shoot faster, the guy has a possible problem with the gas through put which, if messed with in the really wrong direction, can blow out the internals of his marker.
We're not talking about cranking up the velocity on an A5 here...

shadow i mean on your inline reg the screw on the side if u turn that all the way down you wont have any air flowing trough the reg the screw is only on some regs and iv seen them on ions am i right cuz when i got my gun i had to do that

This was fixed with a easy turn on the reg.
Curious what it chrono'd at after that lil adjustment. What did it shoot - 260, 270?
Did it still need fine tuning after?
Felt like it would shoot low w/o additional tuning out of my hands.

Rage, *some* HP regs may use a side adjuster, but every reg I've ever used is adjusted with a hex screw on the end of the reg.
On most regs I've seen if there is a large'ish hex nut mid body on the reg it's probably a 1/8NPT mount for an alternate input or an output gauge that's been sealed with a dummy screw/lug instead. If you managed to undo that with the reg pressurized the gun would be fine but the entirety of your tank would vent and blow the hex key and port plug out at you, probably at a fairly unpleasant velocity....
I have never seen an externally accessible Bob Long LPR that was adjusted with a mid-body adjustment screw.

Not pissed Rage, I appreciate the thought and effort at being helpful, just wanted you to be aware that what applies to one type of marker *may* not apply to another. I know nothing about Ions, have never shot one and don't know anything about their internals... closest I've been to an Ion is my sons SP1 and I don't know how similar they are beyond being made by the same company.... because of that I avoid giving advice on anything to do with Ions unless it's VERY general and/or all of the Ion experienced guys are being non-responsive.
