Fields Around Victoria

Hey everyone I'm moving to Victoria for school, I play D2 BCPPL and need a field to play at.

Any suggestions ?

war aprty. give southpark a pm, they're in vic. also the b.c. supernaturals are outta vic as well.

fields: tnt or v.p.a. (there's another 1, um - can't quite remember the name) - but tnt and v.p.a. 4 sure. they are bushball however. the cage in duncan is speedball.

The Cage has a section on the forum here for information and discussions. At present there isn't an operational Speedball facility in the Victoria area that I am aware of the, closest options from Victoria are the Cage in Duncan or TPG in Tswassen.

I'm moving from Terrace the town of less than 10000 where we have a field haha.
At least Duncan isn't too too far.

Victoria just can't get their sheot together for a proper legit and up to date 7man field.
I've heard "One Day it Will Happen" for five years now.

Norm.
VPA.
Private Intrests.

It's just not going to happen.

The Island itself can barely pull together two Div 1 teams never mind enough people in one spot to really hammer out some good scrims.
You can easily get in on some good drills and grind some skills out gunning at a Island field but if you want to stay in tune for the provincial league you gotta go over to TPG, Ambush and scrim with other teams. (Note the plurl on team)

Only way you're going to find a proper 7man field in Victoria or on the Island is the one you build yourself on your own private land.
And just because you build it - doesn't mean they will come.

It's sad but true.

I cant remember who it was I was talking with but they were saying that there is a speedball field being built in victoria this year... Ill try and remember who it was and find out more info..

Heh man, welcome to the Island!

The Cage in Duncan. Get over the 'hat and play. Seriously it is NOT a big drive to hit Duncan... less then 45minutes.

WarParty typically runs private practices on Saturdays... pm me if you want to come out... we don't practice every weekend (for example we are heading of to Ambush in Vancouver this weekend to join in the Vendetta-Impact-Naughty Dogz practice so will NOT BE AT THE CAGE THIS SATURDAY... and the following weekend is the WCPW and we will again NOT BE AT THE CAGE for the upcoming long weekend - sorry Tom... will be back at it following).

We car pool up leaving from the Admirals-Gorge area at 9am... carpools can be arranged with enough time to plan (the night before is NOT gonna always work to get rides together so all you last minute fools get yer shiz wired and organize yer shizzle).

bccrawlerz mentions that there is a rumour around that there might be a field in Vic soonish... well... there is some substance to this rumour... it seems likely that it is going to happen... but not for this season.

Field in Vic is in the works last I saw. Footprint was done (I think), but there is still a LOT of landscaping to be done and time for grass to grow/establish before a slide won't bring part of the turf with you. Not happening this year for sure, but its a possibility for next.

Its not hard to find where its being built if you play all the fields in vic....

Well for now Duncan doesn't seem too bad an idea. I'm getting there late August in time for school but it'd be nice to get in some more practice before e3. I'll have to hit you guys up on the carpool of you head over to tpg though.

Thanks for the info, between the thread and pm I know all I need to know. What d1 teams are there kickin around ?

no, no i haven't. but i WAS in the cdn armed forces for years so, uh....er....um,..... we did find ourselves in the occasional, um.... close counters.
