Hello canadian people.

I will not travel to vancouver only for the paintball, of course.
So i've got many questions about you're nationals and provincials parcs.

First: were to found grizzlis? :web:

Lol!

No in fact i'm searching a "walking team" (correct ?) for seeing you're mother nature from an inside point of view.

In France i've got many experiences from my participation to the birds protection, in town, forest and mountain environments, in winter or in summer.
But i know too, canadian environment is different, more wild, less human presence, and unknown for me ... hum, i'm exited!

If someone know a club in vancouver who accept a stranger for many walking days in forest or kayak near you're islands, please contact me.

See you soon!

Hey Koga, I'm afraid I'm not really in touch with the local kayaking clubs or hiking groups but I do know that in Victoria there are several companies that specialize in "Nature Tours" both Kayaking and Hiking. I know some of the guys around here are a little more actively outdoorsy so hopefully they'll speak up with some suggestions. I know of a few companies that do that sort of thing locally and if no one has links to the clubs or interest groups that might be willing to help you without charging for it I'd be glad to get you the contact info for a few of the businesses that do it.

Dude... it is EVERYWHERE here on the Island. Kayaking, mountains, bikes (all flavors), surfing...

Kayaking Trips I can personally give two thumbs up for include the Broken Islands tour (book ahead I think), any place up north of Telegraph Cove out towards the Boroughton Provincial marine Park, and just darn good day paddles out of Sydney area. Hikes and camping... West Coast Trail (book ahead), Cape Scott Prov. Park or just awesome day hikes out in East Sooke etc etc... Many many options. All of the kayaking trips except for the day paddle would require some skills in the boat... sometimes weather blows in really quickly and those straights are largish between islands. Anyway... tons of options.

Vancouver Island is much better suited for the outdoors type stuff than Vancouver and the surrounding area. If you want stuff specifically in Vancouver, I cant really help you much, but if you're interested in the island I can be more help. Just let me know what you want to do more specifically tongue.gif
Here are some quick suggestions, but feel free to send me a private message as well and I'll do my best to help.

The West Coast Trail is deffinately worthwhile if you want to be out in nature but dont want too hardcore a hike.
Theres also the Juan De Fuca trail closer to Victoria, which is much easier to get in/out of than the WCT.
Where will you be located/how much time do you have/what will you have available for transportation and camping gear?

If you want to see some really cool stuff without all the hiking and camping gear I'd suggest visiting the Tofino & the Pacific Rim National Park area:
Whale watching (do the zodiac boat one)
Meares Islands Big Tree Trail is pretty cool (theres a water taxi service to it from Tofino)
Surfing/beautiful beaches
Black bears everywhere. I just got back from camping in Tofino and we were within 3m of a wild cougar (it was NOT intentional, it was stalking us, and I do NOT suggest it)
Some of the biggest trees around.

Bravo if that was real french Rob.

If not - Google translator is horribly inaccurate.
