Speedball (Invert Mini I know my buddy South Park had some from a 1st place tournament his team won at E1, he may still have some left. If money isn't a problem; Bob Long any kind, Ego, Geo, DYE; NT or any kind of DM
or
Rec; Ion, Invert mini, Tip-Man, BT I think thats their name, PUMPS ask someone else I'm still learning about those too.
???
If you want to get into speedball I know their are a few local teams around willing to help guys just starting just ask people on here where to go.
There is no such thing as a stupid question just stupid answers.

Sounds like a good plan. Make sure paintball is for you and in the meantime find out what kind of marker and mask is right from you and go from there.

Hey! - That's usually my job.
Buying gear brings a certain sence of pride but if you're not going to outlaw fields then rentals are fine in my opinion for the random outing with buds or family.
I was thinking about this the other day - why wash my own clothes and clean up my own gear when for a few buck more I can rent coveralls and a Tippman 98.
Rental fees over a year for the few times I would visit the local fields for fun are minimal compared to the cost of gear that would get used for the same amount of time - $500+ for going out three times a year is a lot more than three rental fee charges. It would be cool but uncalled for right now. (BT Delta Elite = Drool)
I'm not the biggest fan of renting a mask so to me that's the cool first ticket item to go for.

Thier collective websites might be able to answer that question though.
Check em all out for sure. Each has thier own style.

Hey Jhon, welcome to the forum. My son and I started playing together fairly regularly when he was that age. TNT and Victoria Paintball Adventures are both really good places to play, different feels to the two so I recommend checking them both out. They're both very professional and ALOT of fun, TNT is probably the best developed field in the region with a bunch of different themed fields while VPA makes brilliant use of their very dynamic field with some really innovative games.
They're both really good times but I tend to take first timers out to VPA because they play alot of respawn games which takes some of the sting out of taking an early hit and gives you more time on the field to get used to what does and doesn't work... that's my personal preference at least.

I find that when I go out to play I tend to spend about the same amount all totaled whether I was playing at VPA or TNT. VPA's paint is cheaper but because alot of their games are respawn based you're playing longer which means you wind up spending more time shooting and more paint gets consumed overall. TNT's paint is more expensive per ball but you tend to wind up shooting less shots per day at TNT on average and their field fee is cheaper so it balances out.

If you're mobile but not playable consider heading out with them (if they don't mind the dad tagging along). TNT and VPA are generally willing to let you put on a safety vest and a mask and head out to watch up close as long as you're observing the dead men rules (ie: no hints to the live players). To this day I wish I had some shots of my sons first few times out at paintball...
