I had a blast today! Much props to Tom for providing the gear, air, cheap paint, and field at the last minute after the first site went belly-up, to Mike for helping me learn to ref more effectively, and to Marius (CyborgShaman) for the transport. As an unexpected treat, FEER_JEER donated about 600 rounds of paint and let me get in on the last two games of the day. Joshua (Team Hellfire) and Steffan (BCcrawlerz) also helped me get to know the local outlaw scene better as well; I especially look forward to playing with you guys again.

If I've missed anyone, or gotten anything wrong (met a LOT of people today), please PM me and let me know. You all deserve credit for being so awesome!

The weather was, to use the best word, interesting. Mother Nature showed us all her faces today - sunny and cheerful, gloomy and overcast, and of course, pissing rain on and off all day. The only thing missing was thunder and hail - but even that wouldn't have stopped this enthusiastic bunch of Island natives!

Here, I'm going to post the best pictures of the day - if you're in one of them, PM me and I will put your name in the captions (and tag you on Facebook if you like). There is also video footage, which will be uploaded sometime early this week. If you got some media happening, too, then this is where you post it! Let's hear how the game went for you.

Keaton R. in the dirt pit flanking the speedball field that serves as the 'downhill' base.

Keaton R., Ethan D. and Luke in the foreground.
Steve H., background right.

Robert M. and Steve H. taking cover behind one of the bunkers on the road.

Middle right, Luke (Op. Hellscream772), circles a bunker for a better angle on a defender as his teammates lay down suppressing fire.

Travis (Op. Wingnut) at the end of the day.

We found Mike at about 2am this morning. We fed him Beer, Jager and Vodka shots then sent him back to his high level graveyard shift security job at Toms field.
We stayed up drinking until roughly 5am but ran out of alcohol so we slept for maybe 3hrs before taking down the tents so the team could get going with practice.
We heard what sounded like a small group over at Toms.
So how many showed up after the Hump fallout?

i had a blast! the official count was 48 players at the 2pm bell, plus mike and i. (mike showed no sign of hangover behind that mask). i think i missed a coupla' stragglerz so 50 is the call. down from the 71 at hump1 but that many players with their own gear firing (quite a bit of full-auto) on a kwik-recover post hump/islandtimberlands fiasco is great 4 island united! can't wait til we all get 2gether again and WHERE dammit?

prolly not a good idea 2 post on the now popular/controversial islandpaintball.ca site to 'heatscore' our renegade intentions. perhaps a ninja mission on some1's headquarters ha ha! but neways - yeah - a great time! what a gang of characters. really. as i get 2 know people it's funny 2 c them again (replete w all their 'upgrades' on their gear since the last time). - i get guys going "yeah, so i finally got the new mod you recommended - waddya think?" and u gotta understand i recommend hundreds of mods all the time so i'm, like - yeah, it looks great! even tho i don't have a clue what mod it was or even who the hel this guy is neways ha ha ha!

but the air worked great (and it's my new toy) plus the field was really cool after all the changes. thanks matt of pbl west for the killer paint at 'island united' prices! make sure you all check out pbl west's upcoming scenario games at tswassen paintball games and panther paintball's wcppl bushball series of events, both on the mainland.

pw (pw paintball) was on standby next door drillin w/notorious w/paint should we hit the hundy mark - but we didn't. so that has 2 b a goal i'd like 2 c w/island united; a hundred ballers. looking fwd 2 th next1 boys!

hellfire, darius, von, supernatz, devil's rejects - all those alberni ballers! - every1 from island united - great times! - the attack/defend's - epic.

I'm glad to hear that everyone had a good time today,

I really wish I could have made it out today, but unfortunately my good old back injury has been acting up again, so I had to stay home and take it easy

Man I wished I could of made it to blow off all teh steam I built up dealing with the Hump and tring to save the longweekend game. But Sundays are always bad for me. Anyways looks like a lot of fun was had and Thanks Tom for all the work you did and stepping up to help us when things went south over here in Port.

Maybe we should plan the next Island United Big game at your field again. We should get more ballers out with more time to plan, seeing things changed last minute it may have stopped a lot from coming.

I will make sure any island game is well advertised here in Port, so lets start planning the next game people!

Had a great time smile.gif. I'll have to invest in some quality elbow/knee pads now. The field was awesome but my elbows and knees are chewed to **** by all the deep brush belly crawling LOL.

bccrawlerz - Thanks for coming along for the car ride man. Was great to meet you and play with you. I checked out one of our old highschool year books and I found your wife in there. She graded 2 years before me and 1 year before my wife. Crystal (my wife) says she kinda knows her but knew her younger brother Brian better (they were in the same grade).

Wingnut - Great time chatting with you and thanks for all the time you spent reffing and taking pictures/video. I was the guy with the Phenom you were drooling over LOL. Looking forward to the videos and keep the pictures coming.
