Relax. You are putting cart before horse. When you are ready and have gear LMK... or come out and borrow the basics and try it out. We can talk about where when and how. You should check in with both the Sunday (SuperNatural) and Saturday (WarParty) crews... test the waters and see what "fits" and feels right... etc...

Not much has changed for WarParty Saturdays.
This is always the way it has been since we began to practice at the Cage.
We (WarParty and Karnage) asked Tom for a time slot for a "closed" practice a year or ore ago so we could do our own thing and concentrate on what we need to build on without getting smashed apart by some of the more established teams or the need to fit into what ever program other teams run. He gave us Saturdays and we, in essence, pay the rent to Tom... the metaphor that seems to make sense of the situation is the local hockey rink... we "rent ice time" at the local facility so we can run our team practice. Simple. It is not open practice per se but we are generally open to bringing out new players so they can check it out and potentially join us.
So... status quo for Saturday practice. As per usual if you would like to come out on Saturday just let me know. If we can fit you in we will.
Any questions about WarParty's Saturday practices pm me or post here. Although we run our own program during the time we rent at the Cage Tom is the Cage manager. Beam him a pm if you want to know about Sunday or whatever business you might want to do with the Cage as policy, business questions, general inquires about the Cage have nothing to do with WarParty. We just rent time so we can play there.

if the cage is an 'open' practice facility, then it is required some1 set stuff up and tear stuff down after the day. if there are only a few people who 'drop in' or 'walk on', then the set up and tear down gets delegated to well.... usually just me or jt. in most cases when there are just a few players, no one wants to help set up or tear down. this is about 3 man hours worth of work. unpaid work (plus the travel and transport of equipment - unpaid).
now as many players may not know, there is no lease, insurance, staff or business licence at the cage. the cage isn't a 'business' per say as there is only a verbal agreement between myself and the landowner. it is with the understanding that the cage is a 'use at your own risk' training field. this means the onus is on the team's captain and the individual players to 'police' themselves regarding safety; such as wearing goggles when on the field and ensuring all markers have a barrel sock on when off the field. pretty simple. 2 simple rules.
with walk-ons and drop ins, the chances of an accident or injury will rise as many times these walk-ons and drop-ins come without a team or a captain to watch over them. there are no paid staff or volunteers to do this.
now because the cage is a 'renegade' field, potential issues such as players;
- cheating
- fighting
- bringing their own paint
- not paying field fees/waiting to be chased down to pay
- not wearing bbl socks/needing to be constantly reminded to wear thei bbl socks
etc. etc are beyond the scope of what the cage provides in the way of staff - which is none. no staff.
so without staff, a business licence, a signed lease, insurance etc. the cage would be 'renegade' and players would be agreeing to play at their own risk.
unfortunately, opening the field for a few unscheduled walk-ons or drop-ins, combined with the potential for an accident/injury due to the nature of the cage means that either the place becomes a business and is operated as such; (add $20 to every case of paint and raise field fees to $20) or we (the supernaturals) ask that teams who wish to train there and who can be responsible, 1st pm myself (sundays) or dave (saturdays) before they come out to practice.
nothing personal, just trying to get it right. the cage does not make a profit and operates continually in the red. the bunkers, the net, the upkeep, pooper etc. were purchased by the supernaturals to train with. only the compressor is compensated; the rest of the material at the cage is lent out for free out of the kindness of the team. the cage is not a business and the field fee merely covers the land/air and does not include staff, bunkers, set up, tear down, repairs, maintenance, upkeep, mowing, filling, blowers, netting, poles, pooper or any other amenities.
hope this clarifies.....

so starting yesterday - everything of old is off the table, literally - we begin anew rather than just fold up tent and leave. your response was not purposefully deleted and i'm sorry it happened during the clearout. please feel free to repost.
