I think very highly of the Bob Long Vice. A good used Ego 8 might also be a nice marker.

a cheap beginner entry level speedball marker would be an ION. at least in my opinion.

Some minis when clicking the solenoid without air have caused it to drop the solenoid down a bit in the grip stopping it from shooting unless you take it apart and fix it, if you want a great gun for a good price go to the for sale section and check out jordan campbells Russian legion marq only $500 bucks you'll never need another gun

Avoid the Mini.
Depends on what 'Breaking the Bank' is for you.
Used:
Under $200 = Ion
Under $300 = 2K2 Timmy or Shockers
Under $400 = DM6 or Alias Timmys
Under $500 = Ego 7 or Marq
The $600-$1000 range has a lot of options. SL's, Team Guns and even New Guns that were $1300-1500 just five months ago.
But honestly anything with a micro switch that can do 10-15bps with consistant velocity in the stream is going to do fine.

Are Invert mini's any good?
As others have mentioned, avoid the minis. Some of them work just fine, and when they are working they're decent markers. The problem is the frequency with which mini's have been encountered that have persistent problems even after several trips back to the factory. Some of them simply refuse to work or may work occasionally and then fail or need consistent intensive maintenance to keep running at a somewhat reasonable level. For every Mini owner I know of that hasn't had any problems with their Mini I know several others who have had nothing but blinding rage, gun smashing fit inducing frustrations with theirs.
