ya that was me, working with shadowwalker.

We never got a chance to talk about it at the Hump game. So its still in the works I think before anything becomes offical. I had one problem and that I saw someone wearing a black / White patch on the weekend (didn't get the name) that used the same paintball guy clipart. So we might want to rethink of a little redo, so we can't be seen as copying.

Realy should make a new thread for it after talking to shadowwalker some more

But this is what it was

No point in having the same thing as someone else.

if i may - i liked the 1st 1 better. the mask looks 2 much like a skull taking a face whappin'. that's not us. just my 2 cents.

also, june 20th - opening date for the island's only paintball dedicated pro-shop. stock will b kept to the basics 2 start: masks, tanks, harnesses, bushball markers, basic speedball set-ups, chronies, fill-stations, paintballs o plenty. - all at a competitive price.

fridays, saturdays and sundays to start. - nanaimo river rd.

Looks good. One thing we were tring wa to keep the colors to a min. Also Having the website address. I believe the idea was to make a minimal color version for Pod Stickers adn maybe a patch, which would be only two or three colors, kinda mil sim like.

The patch version I made myself, I didn't use a template. I can easly transform you design into a patch so we can see, but it will have to wait until tomorrow as I'm off to my grave yard shift.

I like this one better, because where it says "Nanaimo" it could also be changed for each person, to state where they are from ie: (Duncan) (Nanaimo) (Victoria) (Comox,Courtenay,Cumberland) (Campbell River) (Port Alberni) ETC...

Because Island United is related to someone coming to the Island looking to play with a Island group and he asked if we had a sweet patch.
Hee Hee - yeah we got off topic - sort of - but not really.

OOOHH LOOK THAT THING OVER THERE IS SHINEY.....runs after it

OK that's my last one for tonight I have other stuff to draw up.

Is that an HF star in the background? wink.gif

As Zero-Niner had mentioned we were trying to keep the colors down and subdued for the Patches so that they'd be simpler to get made and wouldn't disrupt the subdued outfits of the Camo wearing crowd too badly. The more colorful design would work as pod stickers though.

yeah i like the patch, but i agree as well, if it were a more current marksman and possibly different names for the cities, it would be awesome.

(City idea is kind of like our island teams) in a sense that it would work like regiments/infantry divisions.
(Nanaimo)
(Victoria)
(Duncan)
Etc...

Nope, sorry Chilly. Everyone on the island is from Nanaimo and plays for WarParty! wink.gif That was the reason Zero-Niner suggested the City and Team Name patches to wrap the Island United patch. Island United isn't authoritarian or regimented as a whole, teams within the group may be but overall we coordinate loosely and with surprising effectiveness on the Scenario field. Hellfire tends to work together on objectives as a unit and Island Militia usually breaks into smaller groups and works at multiple points around the field simultaneously.

Nope from Port Alberni actually, and Warparty is from Vic I beleive. It was just for an example of what could be done. Adding teh top and bottom was just an optional idea I had. It was actually explained somewhere else originally.

I like my design better (sorry Fifth.) as its simpler and cleaner, also has the elemnts that we were looking for. But agree with the guy change. Maybe adding the mask part from Fifthplanecomin design. I will play with it after I wake up today. need to go to bed now just got back from my half night of work.

The question is really where you would get a patch like that made based off your own design?

There are a few places in town. Island Militia used the "Dogs Ear" to have our old black patches made up (3"x10"). Jeff had them do a real nice boarder stitch and then he used some sort of super glue and a very high quality velcro on the backs. The Velcro was seriously top of the line stuff. Once on my tac vest it took two people to yank it off (LOL... well... not quite but you get the drift).

Well that first patch that was designed with the name at top and bottom is pretty cool. I'd definitely rock that on my vest.

Local T-<swear filter> Print shops usually are able to also do embrodery work. There is also a guy on ebay I have talked to that does awsome work and makes many of teh patches for paintball teams out there on teh pro network. THey are 100% stitched, showing no fabric like some of the cheap ones are. More online what eh army uses for ther patches. Cost with velcro would be well under $10 after shipping and everything. The first order there is a min of only 8+ patches. After that anyone can order them individually right from him on his ebay auction for paintball patches. just need to tell him which one you want. Shipping is the same for one as it is for a Larger order, so it makes sence to just have one person keep ordering them and selling them. But that is just one option, that I had researched into.

Patches were done at Dogs Ear they turned out really well they do some really nice work there and their prices are pretty resonable, the velcro I put on them was just stuff that I picked up in Walmart it was sold by the metre for like 2$ or something cheap like that, I then used contact cement to join the two

Really? Dude... that velcro had a death grip on my vest. Where in WalMart do you find 3" wide velcro... Imma get some and use it to baby sit my kids (stick 'em to the wall someplace safe).
