I am a photographer at Island Sports News and a paintballer. I was thinking we should start having news reports on Paintball. In general we are looking for Tournament Paintball and any big competitions. This is an Island based sports news company so we will be following only Island teams.
What I need from you guys:
I need those who organize these events and tournaments to contact either or my editor Charles La Vertu <editor@islandsportsnews.net> or myself, Matthew Powell <mp_mattpowell@mac.com> . We will need to know when/where events are, what island teams are in the event, who is on the teams, updates on scores, standings, and highlights of the event.
Unfortunately because the photographers for ISN are Volunteers, we don't get paid to travel and making it to events on the mainland or up island can be hard and costly. So if there are any photographers that are at the events or have photos of the team please send them to Charles or myself and we will post them with the story, we can also place your name and a link to your website with the photo.
Check out our website at www.islandsportsnews.net

Mr. Powell takes killer pics (check out his TNT pics if you get a chance).
Matt, This weekend we just held a huge Renegade game up on the Alberni Hump...The first of what we hope to be more of Island United - Renegade games!!!
Great field up the HUMP built largely by the Albeni players over the years. For this event 70+ players showed up. Shaw News came out. It REALLY was a local Island Baller Community event. It was grassroots. Very cool. I am sure I am missing a few teams but what I those names that I can recall included representation from Teams Notorious, SueprNaturals, HellFire, WarPArty, Island Militia and players from all over the Island (Nanaimo, PortAlberni, Commex, Duncan, Victoria, Courtney all rolled out).
You interested in doing a write up about this?

We are interest in all island sports, so this sounds good. Just send charles or myself some information about the event, any pictures if you have some, a link to a website if there is, and anything else you would like to see on our news site.
I am sure with enough involvement we can get some good stories going on paintball.

Just dont report on all of the cocaine and hookers that Notorious does and we may even feed you beers and offer a sloppy seconds here and there.
Talk to Mike McDonald of BCPPL and see if he can give you a press pass for the event you want to cover Island teams on.
Jimmy from PBRack seems to be the on field photog from the last couple events - maybe a colab is in order?
Either way Notorious will be glad to host you and your cam at the next mainland event.
I could even write your editor a mature professional letter on the value of covering the event for Island teams that compete in the league.

competitive speedball teams by ranking;
- b.c. supernaturals
- notorious
- karnage*
- war party
- deception*
- misfits
- kvk
*rumoured to be merging
bushball teams:
- island militia
- hellfire
- rez dogs
- untouchables
- alberni assasins
also, whenever we all get together, we are island united!
there are always new teams coming and old teams going, but this is pretty current.
the 3 main provincial tournaments series are
- b.c.p.p.l.
- run 4 the guns (paintballevents.ca)
- interior paintball league
if it's higher level tournament teams you're looking for, then the b.c. supernaturals, war party and notorious are (in order) your 3 most active. good luck and thanx for the interest!
