Title says it all... define "spinning".
If there is a link to an official set of rules that defines it that would be ideal.... otherwise... post up your understanding.

"Spinning" as the term is used in paintball denotes a player being bunkered, and then turning to shoot the aggressor. Whether or not the paintball broke becomes relevant only after the fact. The crowd always gets to hear "He spun on me!!!"

i've taken three in the back - felt them good, spun on the guy and broke lots of paint on him - reffs check my back immediatly and they were bounces - guy doing the run down gets the playing on penalty and not me - it's a risk you may need to take when it matters
but basically and it's a overused tactic that many reffs never call a penalty on unless they are good reffs - or two reffs watched both angles of the run down and decide
how many times have we all called ourselves out at a practice where the ball didnt break? - well in a 7man event where the event or the series win can be decided on one or two points earnt or lost - ya - you spin like a record or risk taking the early/loser ferry home
is it right to play on? - <swear filter> no
is it something i would try in finals during that split second we meet on field as you attempt to bunker me? - <swear filter> yes
trick is to always know when someone is about to run you down and have paint in the air where it's going to meet em first before he gets his angle.

- your way if you spin and hit him whilst his shots bounced/missed/mis-fired
- his way if they break on you then you spin and shoot him (either a 1 for 1 - non-obvious, or a 2 for 1 - obvious)
- neither way, if you spin and hit him at the same time (mutual)
- your way again if you know he's coming and shoot him 1st (he gets eliminated or penalized if he shoots after you hit him)
4 ways for a call. poor refs.
