Quoted by James Cameron
No trailers on Avatar DVDs and BDs when it comes out.
I'll believe it when I buy the BluRay next year as I hate unskipable trailers and commercials on movie media that I buy.

For now I'll enjoy my perfect Avatar screener A10V10 - NON-3D

Visually, yes.
Unoriginal plot and script, not so much.

Same with Peter Jacksons District 9.

Visually, amazing.
Unoriginal plot and script, not so much.

I wonder how much Cameron paid to produce someone elses story with todays mass public captivation with tech, sci-fi fantasy parallels of world history and folklore?
I'll guess less then the 30 million Jackson paid for his re-do of life in a apartheid Joburg.

Both were still amazing - I'm just a snotty critic towards unoriginal productions. I call them GoBot movies.

avatar was wicked, fried or otherwise.

and it should be illegal to have commercials on a dvd. this is just plain stoopid. a commercial on a disc? it's like playing my aerosmith cd and having to wait for a 'slap chop' commercial 1st.

commercial at the movie theatres? are you kidding me? maybe on free tv, but a paid movie pass? WTF? (that's me booing in the back of the theatre when this happens).

let's see; movies produced since 1920 something - 2.5 million

possible storylines - 176,978

number of times the same story will be told more than once in a movie - 13.7

chances of avatar being similar to other stories told - 13.7 to 1

Hmmm... some one once said that there are only 7 basic story themes/plots. All stories are one of these 7... gonna be some repeats in there I would guess...
