You have 3 and you're constantly trying to swap them... not like you've got 3 that you're deeply invested in. Have you even played a game with that PM7 yet???

then he could either swap the PM for something that runs 50cal OR wait till the PM's have a 50cal conversion kit released for them... assuming the spoolies are capable of doing that the way the poppet guns have been doing without a full engine replacement.

I just realized that was back to back posts with Longstar getting bodyslammed. I won't say "sorry" as if they just slipped and fell out of my keyboard but those being back to back zingers was unintentional so I'll try and lay off. I'm honestly not meaning to single you out but you've been making alot of the virtual foot in the virtual mouth posts lately and it's hard to resist all of em. Take a look back at your original statement in this thread and compare it with your recent posts on the forum and you might understand the ludicrous nature of that particular statement coming from the background of your recent post history...
Back On topic:
I'm in a similar spot as far as 50cal paintball in that i'm not about to run out and buy a NEW marker for a format that isn't here yet, let alone common here yet, but it seems that most of the manufacturers that are buying in on 50cal are making conversion kits for their recent markers so when it does eventually get prevalent here we likely won't have to make that choice anyways.
50cal WILL play differently than 68 because of the different physics, but every format has different dynamics to it and we adapt to them as we play or we pick the formats we like and avoid the ones we don't. Whether that's Pump, Airball, Rec, Bush, or Scenario... the physics of 50cal will add another dynamic that we'll have to adapt to IF we opt to play it, but I don't see anyone taking away your 68's any time soon and forcing you over to 50cal just yet.

helps when you come out and play and actually shoot people.
on topic i feel that 50 cal will probably dominate in a couple of years and that most likeley every marker will have a conversion kit for it. If the PM's did have a kit on the market i would for sure buy one, but im not sure what the availabilty of buying 50 cal balls is like. i havent seen any on the internet unless im not looking hard enough. As for playing different well i think its just basic physics, you have less mass yet the same amount of air pressure; its going to go farther and most likeley straighter.

My understanding is that they actually have a shorter range at equivalent velocity. Because they have less mass they require less power (ie: less air per shot) to accelerate them to the same velocity but they also have less inertia behind them and require less force (ie: the resistance provided by the atmosphere) to slow them so they shed velocity faster as well. Although at this point I haven't heard if there are plans to keep 50cal regulated at 300fps or whether they'll increase the "safe velocity" for 50cal...

I somehow doubt the non-player perception of paintball will change, as they will still fear the sting. as it is, with .68s, most players don't really mind, as they use it as a good reason to NOT GET HIT!
