Bob shoots a 50 cal converted Victory... mid way thru the video he switches over to a 68 cal Victory... shooting the same target the 68 cal blasts holes in it... the 50 cal just breaks on it. There may be a place for the 50 cal (for new rec ballers who are not interested in getting dents or perhaps arterial aneurysms).

The conversion kit looks decent.

Nice to see such a clear demonstration of the difference in kinetic energy between the rounds.

I was surprised at how large of a mark the 50cal hits left on the guy that was playing target too as it doesn't seem like alot of room for fill in there... I imagine the difference in range would change the way the game plays quite a bit, but that's not necessarily a bad thing, just "different". Being able to shoot through scrub more effectively would definately be a nice bonus and something that hadn't occured to me as far as the differences in performance between the rounds.

I talked 2 matt/blast the day of the .50 cal test with victory kit...they seemed pumped about..and they should..but if the .50 cal ball has more fill,then .68 does not??then if the .68 cal ball has more fill so there's less movement of liquid then .68 would be more accurate..then I assume certain brands of paint would be better than others..thus the accuracy factor..from low 2 hi end paint is the factor..

it seemed obvious didn't it; you wanted to recreate combat. they'sa using dem small bullets these days for that there combat.

here's another one i considered; high velocities, up the pain element or improve the paintball clothing to absorb the shot (idea here ... investors/inventers take note). i dunno really, about this one cuz i've been knocked nearly dead from paintballs already. like suck them marbles and nearly pass-out knocked dead. this past weekend; the big scenario n.d.e., the 2 times i've been knoocked straight out with ear shots, the one to the little hangy down thing in your throat b4 full face armour. so yeah... higher velocities seem a bit crazy nowadays, but then again - so did the idea of the ufc or 'nitro circus'. etc. etc.

higher velocities, video replays, waaaay more teams. jmo but i think it's the way.

You are correct that 50 cal splat size on target is approximately 80% of that of a 68, due in part to the lower kinetic energy of the 50 cal ball due to less mass. The paint stays more on target, instead of flying back upon impact such as the 68 does. Having shot a Nano, I can tell you that the trajectory is very similar. As to brush bucking ability, that will remain to be seen once 50 cal guns and paint become available in North America.
