only 2 weeks left til the 1st 'run4th guns' at tswassen paintball. the 1st bcppl event is in may, so if you are expecting 2 compete in that event the 'run' is an excellent 'tournament practice' to test your team's progress. for a few dollars more than your regular team practice you get:

- structured 5-player centre-flag games (2 divs: 'open' and 'rookie')
- refs, at least 6 of them
- low entry and paint costs ($25 entry includes player card) and fresh paint starting at just $48 a case/2000
- prizes; instant shopping-sprees at any pbl location (2 stores in van, plus a showroom)
- trophies (quality trophies 1st through 3rd in both divs.)
- high-level competition (us, snipers, thunder, gridlock etc.) in the open division
- ammenities like crazy: ferry shuttle (free), turfed/netted/bleachers/shelters/easy access/concess/store next door etc.

if you are still considering attending this event consider this:

- does not interfere with existing league schedules and priced low enough so as to not 'bite in' to those funds
- attend 4 of the first 7 'practice events' and your team qualifies to win all new 'high-end' guns at the final event.
- the skill-level of your team will increase significantly because of the 'tournament-like' structure (this i can promise)
- newly formed teams have the most to gain by being immersed quickly into the fray. new teams c'mon!

- you are supporting local b.c. fields, stores and players (prizes go right back into your gear) and fields such as snipers, tswassen and the interior have incentive to up the quality of their speedball facilites. as other fields jump on line, they too will benefit - and so will their players - it's a growth thing.

thankyou for your consideration - tom

You would be silly not to attend this.
That extra coin spent over a regular practice day is obsorbed by reffs and trophies.

Well worth it and they are hella fun.

Tom makes very good points all around. I wish there were events like this when I was playing, because they are excellent low cost practices in a tournament environment. Of course, we also drove to Seattle and Portland, and travel to TPG for the first event from the Island much less of a hassle. smile.gif

See you all here.

Matt / TPG

just find 3 more coners like yourself - and that's a team right there! -

and rob, don't underestim8 the allure of those 'individualistic emo' props. i bet there are whole balttalions of 'closet coners' that we, the regular 'mower of facers' prolly couln't even begin 2 understand.

actually, maybe don't do a team now that i think about it. 1st off, you'd get domed repeatedly by the fact that the cones would stick out above the bunkers thus disclosing your location. furthermore, although you could get on the ferries 4 free (which is a trick stolen from the ol' lifer's ninja handbook) passing as staff/traffic cones, it still wouldn't b enuf compensation for the ridiculing and just the rank of all the collected dog urine undoubtedly deeply impregnated into the conular microfibres.

well, that's my stone gone.

Well I'd love to take the Misfits out to this. But the sad thing is ... we don't have our jerseys yet. WHY DON'T YOU HAVE YOUR JERSEYS YET? your asking? Well let me tell ya, our jerseys were finally finnished and shipped out on monday. Billy called up and recieved a tracking # and promptly went to locate our shippment. Lo and behold, he found it, IN EFFING BELGIUM! BELGIUM...WTF? So needless to say Bill called up and asked WTF. They pulled the shipping manifest and the shipping address was correct but somehow UPS managed to send it to europe. Well they called up the Belgium customs and told them of the error and asked if they could ship it back. They pretty much said that 'they have 2 months to send it back so... GFY! We'll do it when were damn good and ready'. So now Animal Paintball has to eat the loss and make us a completley new set o jerseys and are going to pull an all-nighter and have them shipped out tomorow. WOW! blink.gif

Official Team Jerseys are not an entry requirement.

Shame about the mess up though at least Animal is pumping out some new ones for you - they're good like that.

I believe Run 4 The Guns is happening March 7th at TPG (Tswassen Paintball Games) which is moments from the Tswassen ferry terminal. It's posted in the Calendar though if you want to confirm it and there should be a link there to the main information thread for the Series.

Please register online. For the first three events, we will accept registration in the morning, but after that, people need to register online.
