WTF!?! You haven't made your list yet??? Get on it man, if you don't have your list you're going to die a horrible death!!! Also, make sure to sign up for every lottery and subscribe to every 2012 / apocalypse / armageddon / judgement day mailing list and YouTube channel to make sure you're up to date on everything that's going to happen! If you don't it's gonna be MESSY!!!
And remember, the best way to put down a Zombie is by destroying the head, apparently "Yo momma.. " jokes aren't sufficiently damaging.

You're probably thinking of the Planet X (Nibiru) convergence theory, however, to my knowledge polar flip is just standard drift which occurs within the earth itself not due to the passing of a planetary body. And yes, the Mayans and Summerians both marked the passage of an as yet unidentified planetary body which according to their calendars should be coming nearest to earths orbit again some time around 2012. And while this would cause wonky tides and flooding if it passes close enough that kind of "close" is on an astronomical level both in actual distance and probability. It's a popular theory among UFO chasers and the like as well as some slightly more "interesting" archaeologists (see Zecharia Sitchin), while I see no reason to doubt the existance of the extra planet, I also see no reason to particularly worry about it either. Bear in mind that all the crazy theories about what will happen are just that... theories by people running on fantasies, fear, and paranoia with no real facts.
According to the old calendars this thing is supposed to pass by on a regular orbit of several thousand years (the same timing as the longest cycle in the Mayans cyclic calendar), based on that it's gone by lots of times already and we don't seem to have been wiped out so far. So for anyone still worried about it take a deep breath, pull your panties out of your <swear filter>, and if you're really worried you've got till the fall of 2012 to take surfing lessons or move to high ground. *laugh*
