yes we did win and it was effin awesome. but as for all the agressive players? im not so sure as most of the day i could count 10-12 blue in the staging area and ALOT of blue hanging in the back of our lines. i even saw 3 fully decked out milsim looking guys just BSing in a circle in the back not even looking in the direction of the action. The friendly fire from the back on the guys being aggresive in the front was pretty substantial. either way though we won and it was awesome. of course we won...we ARE islanders....sheesh.

Hey Josh, the Ambush Army and 666 Saints are all CSPO players (even though they were flying their speedball colors instead of their camos) and they're roughly as crazy as the IM crew. Made for a brutally fast ground gaining game when we got rolling in the same directions.

i was not aware of that lee. but maybe my message was unclear. i wasnt saying CSPO wasnt being aggresive all i was doing is pointing out that we had like at least a quarter of our guys hangin in the back and not being very aggressive. i cant count the number of times i walked through our first line(back people) to get to our actual front line. im not sure if this back line and front line was a tactic or not but im used to all the players being in the FRONT line. I did notice i played side by side on the front lines with ambush army and 666 saints. they were definatley aggressive. all in all a great day but maybe next time CSPO and ISLANDERS should not be on the same side so things are fair for other players.
I had a good time and am proud to be an Islander. OH YEAH!

We basically destroyed and dominated the OPFOR all day... Not BSing. It was not a great day for the Red team. Island players led from the front as per usual and with 666, Ambush Army and a few of my other buds in CSPO we ruled. Aside from being shot in the back of the head a few times by the nOOb wallflowers on my own team who insisted on longballing ME it was awesome (LOL... ). I guess that will teach me to play so far up but really there is no other place to play. Great Day.
Reffing was pretty decent to. HPA was consistently 4500psi most of the day. Prizes were awesome. Scenarios were good and not set up to be overly one sided. Very balanced. God job Matt and ref corps.

it's actually not that uncommon 2 c this 'genre' of player bcuz a lot of them simply have no leadership or neclue as 2 what should b going on. 2 them, it's dress up, oil the gat, fill the pods, tighten the harness, check the batteries, go and chrony, take a few test shots, describe a few of the 'cool' mods theu bought. talk about what gat they're getting next....... and, ..... well,......that's about it.
if by chance they were 2 find themselves in a battle (heaven forbid) they will simply play at the back and shoot nething that moves - friendlies included. and u know, we can't really get mad at them cuz that's sorta the 'norm'.
us islanders r cut from a different cloth. like spartans. warriors. we have leadership on the island, we have lotsa fields ina small area and these fields all push the game, not the posing. that's y the islanders win these things imo.
with speedball it's more about gene pool. with scenario games, it's attitude.
good on u all, wish i could b there but the cage is hosting 3 events over the next7 weeks so that's where my focus has 2 b.
i'll b at matt's really big 1's tho - no matter what.

A couple highlights of my day.
Assaulting the left side of the enemy spawn point with stormin normin was awesome. Basically he came to the bunker i was holding and held it so i could move up towards their spawn point. when i moved up to the next bunker i was basically pinned. But norms Booming voice inspired other players around him to push up thus releaving the pressure off my bunker. I was then able to dive down into some foilage about 15-20 feet from the enemies spawn point and take out 8-10 players from that vantage point.
Last game of the day. our entire team was given the mission to storm down the ridgeline and capture a warhead at the far back corner of the ridge. we attacked in a mob-like fashion and were stuck at the radar tower which was occupied with enemy forces. I had about 30 balls left and was about 5 yrds from the tower with Ray(hellfire) on my left and PistolPete(IM)on my right. i asked pistolpete to cover me and did hand signals to ray to cover me as well so i could push up to the tower and assault it. So they covered me and i pushed up to about 8ft from the tower and started to crawl towards the tower. then i hear this *thump thump thump thump* and see a grey streak run past me into the tower screaming "GET OUT GET OUT". well apparently i didnt assault the tower fast enough for the tastes of Southpark as he was the screaming grey streak. ha ha so we took the tower and i was low on paint and southpark had left his pods behind (for his run into the bunker i assume) so my teammate Dallas and i ran back under a hail of paintballs to retrieve the ammo and get it back to southpark so i could refill as well. then Myself, Ray, and Dallas proceeded to lead the push ON the ridgeline itself in a cover to cover fashion that worked excellent In my opinion.
anyways there a few highlights and examples of Islander's Teamwork. Go Island!!

I don't know who the guy was that we were trying to tell there was a target right on the other side of his bunker, took like 2 minutes of furious hand signals before he finally just stood up and pointed the marker over and mercied the other guy haha!
Yeah there were a few times when me and a few other random people made some nice pushes up through the lines throughout the day.
I actually shot this one dude though a little window in a bunker right in the face. He stood there in the bunker with his face right in the little window and wiped right there in plain view. Unfortunately, there wasn't a ref right there at the moment, so it kinda ticked me off, but he got his <swear filter> bunkered in a minute later... little biotch haha.
Oh, and Jurgen! Sorry about the friendly fire in the back of the head, but thats what you get when you crawl around beneath the brush and then pop up in the middle of a fire fight right in my red dot haha!

We missed you Tommy boy. It was a great day of ball, and I am pleased to say that it sounds like just about everyone from diverse different groups attending all had a good time, win or lose. So, some thanks are in order:
- Jake, TPG field crew (Ian, Richard, Kris, Lucas, Dana, Kevin, RJ, George, Selena, Mickey, and anyone else who I may have missed), my boys from Vancouver Thunder (Evan, Dan, Corbin, Ben, Harley) - huge props and thanks for your hard work in prep and reffing all day on a beautifully warm day in Tsawwassen (thank you God and /or otherworldly powers who control the weather for a perfect paintball day!)
- James / Curtis / Rick from PBL / TPG who ran the PBL store and tech booth, and kept players on the field with minimal wait
- Erin (my girl) who ran the paint desk and food at lunch - note for next time: flip flops aren't the best footwear at the paintball field but oh well
- The troops who made the game happen: CSPO (Kris and Jim get special note for acting as commanders for the blue team and having a winning strategy but also to K2 who rallied both sides and had some fire), Wolverines (best costumes in my opinion - made me think of guerillas sneaking around in the South American jungle), Wardogs and Marauders who brought the tanks (what can I say guys? You rule), Stormin Norman and his Untouchables from the Island, Josh and team Hellfire, Dave and the Island Militia (Dave plays more paintball than anyone I know), Andy and the boys from Team Voodoo (my Chilliwack Connection), Crazy Ryan and his crew from Tactical Command Supply, and Justin from Mil Sig of course
- game sponsors: PBL, TPG, Warsensor, Milsig (great setup you guys and huge thanks for adding to the raffle), Tippmann and Procaps - these companies help make these games happen and I encourage you all to help them by buying their products
See you all on Oct. 11 for the final game in the Cold War series and THE TIPPMANN CHALLENGE 2009! More game surprises in store for this game!
