Dm8 Getting The Eyes Out and putting in eye pipe

well my friend has been cleaning his gun and has been trying to take out the eyes but when he takes the feedneck out he feels like he is threading it. so he is unable to take it off without damaging it. so any pointers or better ways to take it off?

and when you yake it out how do you install a dm9 eye pipe in?
