check your battery sounds like a bad conection.
check your eyes are they clean they my not seeing the ball
always check the simplest first, then read your manual.

Basic things to check are connectors (battery, eyes, solenoid). Second is there any discoloration (shades of yellow through to black) on the board which will indicate fried components.

Have you pulled the board out of the gun or poked at the board while sitting on carpet, couch or anything like that?

OK. I know you have checked the basics. But,..

What does your manual say about the "error code" that is being flashed?

Clean eyes? Eye wire or ribbon plugged to the board with clean contacts.

Board dry, free of oil (lub sometimes works it's way onto the board), free of paint inclusions? I had a board that looked like it was malfunctioning... turned out to be paint from being shot. Hard to see... I took some air (compressed "air" from a computer store) and blew it dry. If you know what you are doing maybe some circuit board cleaner if you suspect that oil, water, food, paint residue is causing a short.

Trigger micro switch returning to open? (oh... yah... had paint in the micro switch to once... caused all kinds of odd problems).

Board setting adjustment "button" returning correctly?

Can the board be reset to default modes?

If this was that guy who was at midway a few weeks ago, after market boards usually will turn themselves off after a given amount of time if not fired. That and also, with the virtue EZ-on, when you got us to look at it, the button seems to be constantly pressing the button.

If this is that same person, you said that in between games you would leave the ion on. Then when you went to play again 5-10 minutes later the marker was off again.

Usually the most simple answer,
Good to hear it wasn't a costly fix.
