WHY do they need to be broken up?

You could add so many songs form Bon Jovi and Def Leppard...

How 'bout Momma don't dance and daddy don't rock and roll by Poison? Poison has a couple other goodies I can't think of the names of (and too lazy to google)

It's early 90's but I feel that no compilation of power ballads is complete without "To Be With You", by Mr. Big

"Don't Stop me Now" By Queen

You need to make an exception for this one, yeah it was recorded in 1978 and became a hit single in 1979 but that's close enough isn't it?

Pink Floyd is good in any state of mind. There's a reason Dark Side of the Moon was on the top 100 Rock Album Charts for over a decade straight. People would wear them out and have to buy another one. I owned it in vinyl, casette, and now of course CD.

But I have to wonder about the choice of the whole 80's thing. The 80's were probably the worst decade for music in the 20th century (at least the latter half). Matt, at your age, your recollection of 80's tunes can't be more than Sesame Street and Disney songs, can it? laugh.gif

Damn right Floyd is good in any state of mind. I have two vinyl copies (one for use) in cardboard box somewhere. Back when I lived in Edmonton me and some friends would stick on Dark side of the moon turn off the lights and take laser pointers to the ceiling making a little light show. Of course only when we were really bored, it's not like I did it all of the time.

I agree. 80s blows. But the 70s isn't that much better and the 90s are all songs we've heard WAY too much. Floyd, Ironm Maiden, Zepplin, there's a good start. You could pull it WAY WAY back and kick real old school with some Tommy Dorsey, Arty Shaw and Glenn Miller, or hit up the 50s-60s and kick it Beatles, Big Bopper, Rolling Stones.

ACtually, I think at least the 80s everyone sorta knows

alright, its seems that maybe i should change this. And just get music from all genres,

Can everyone give me 5 - 10 of their favourite songs and I will make a playlist and hopefully we can have some killer tunes ranging from Reiners age (late 1000 BC) to Saxons age (late 90s)

Combichrist - This <swear filter> Will <swear filter> You Up
Gob - Paint It Black
Megadeth - 99 Ways To Die
March_of_Cambreadth
The Tragically Hip - So Hard Done By
Wagner Ride Of The Valkyries
Richard Chees - Gin & Juice
Rage Against The Machines - How could I just kill a man
Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner - Warren Zevon

All of those would be great bunker tunes!

whoah! Didn't something bad happen to you in the 80's. The music was great however the style was not. I can only imagine what you were wearing back then.Did you have any Piano neck ties? How bout the Polyester jackets...I'm sure you still have some in your closet. If so, I'll buy them off you. And everything about Floyd rules. Exept maybe the Sid Barret days but I suppose you had to be there.

Wait only 5-10? Oh right I have to have restraint, ok I'll try.

Pull Out by Death From Above 1979
Here Come the Bombs by Ima Robot
They Walked in Line by Joy Division
Beethoven's Ninth Symphony
Top of the Earth by The Thermals
Astro by The White Stripes
Fortress Europe by Asian Dub Foundation
Kitchen Orgy by Thunderbirds are Now
Man by The Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Pusherman by Curtis Mayfield
Green Onions by Booker T. & the M.G.s

Ok so those last two are more so music for cooling down but I thought some more variety for the music selection might be in order.
